Program Description
This program prepares students to become medium and heavy duty truck and bus technicians who can analyze, repair and maintain medium and heavy duty trucks and buses to manufactures' specifications.
Medium and Heavy Truck and Bus Technician I students use a computer managed laboratory and actual "live" hands-on work in the Hillsborough County Public School (HCPS) bus garage to train the medium and heavy duty truck and bus technicians of the future.

The course of study takes students through the following:
- brakes
- suspension and steering
- diesel engine maintenance and repair
- drivelines
- electrical systems
- air conditioning systems
Indusrtry Certification
Students are prepared to take the A.S.E. certificationStudents are prepared to take the A.S.E. certificationtests which can be a condition of employment and enables employers to offer better starting salaries.Instructor is A.S.E. certified.
